Northumberland Creative & Cultural Sector and Creative-Led Regeneration Survey
We’ve teamed up with colleagues at Northumberland County Council to launch a new survey aimed at building a clearer picture of Northumberland’s creative and cultural sector.
We want to better understand the freelancers, organisations and communities contributing to Northumberland’s creative and cultural sector and creative-led regeneration. In doing so, we can better understand:
• the current activity taking place
• the needs of the sector
• the challenges people and organisations are facing
• and the opportunities across the wider county.
The findings will inform future cultural development work and, importantly, strengthen the evidence base for future funding and investment into culture and creative-led regeneration across Northumberland.
What the survey will tell us
We want to build an accurate picture of the size, economic contribution, ambitions and needs of the creative and cultural sector in and around Berwick-upon-Tweed and across Northumberland.
Who do we want to hear from?
If you’re an artist, maker, freelancer, creative business, cultural organisation, community organisation, or involved in creative or cultural activity in the county, we want to hear from you.
Completing the survey
Some questions ask for estimates; please give your best estimate where you can. Questions about income and expenditure can be left blank if you prefer not to answer.
It takes around 10–15 minutes to complete the survey, depending on the questions that apply to you.
How will your data be used?
Northumberland County Council is the data controller for personal information collected through this survey. Survey findings will be analysed collectively. Any case-study or quoted material that could identify you or your organisation will only be used with your agreement.
Any personal information you provide will be handled securely and in accordance with UK data protection legislation and Northumberland County Council’s Privacy Notice.
What’s the deadline for submissions?
The survey will close at the end of the day on Friday 16 October 2026.
