Join us for our second Berwick Community Radio workshop on 27 August

Following the huge success of our first Berwick Community Radio workshop earlier this month, we’re delighted to announce we’ll be running another free one-day workshop on Wednesday 27 August from 10am – 4:30pm at The William Elder Building (56-58 Castlegate).

This practical, hands-on workshop is designed to give people the knowledge and skills to create compelling stories for radio/podcasts, and the ability to record, edit and broadcast content on the airwaves and online.

Berwick Community Radio is a project funded by Create Berwick to establish a new community radio station in the town. It will be run by local people, sharing stories that matter to those living, working, and visiting Berwick-upon-Tweed.

What can you expect on the day?

Workshop one: How to tell compelling stories
Learn about language and its effect, directed questions, explorative conversation, and how this can be used to create an engaging podcast/radio show.

Workshop two: Practical audio and visual skills
Develop skills in audio capture, microphone and camera set up, lighting and set dressing.

Showcase session: putting in into practise
Test the skills you’ve learnt throughout the day in a live podcast recording, complete with hosting and questioning and answering.

We also want to hear your views on what Berwick Community Radio Station could and should be. What stories should it tell, how can it celebrate everything happening in Berwick, and what will make it great!
