Creatively Healthy Berwick Fund
To support Berwick-based cultural and creative practitioners and organisations to deliver activities that provide health and wellbeing benefits for Berwick residents, we’ve launched a new Creatively Healthy Berwick Fund.
Part of our Creative Action Fund – which provides investment to creatives in Berwick and surrounding wards to develop new skills, grow businesses, test new ideas and deliver projects which engage people in creative activity – the new Creatively Healthy Berwick Fund will award grants up to £12,000 to deliver creative activities in any artform that positively impacts community health and wellbeing, and contributes to Northumberland County Council’s Creatively Healthy Berwick vision:
“A community where every resident can access appropriate, effective and person-centred creative opportunities that lead to sustainable improvements in their health and wellbeing”.
Who can apply?
The grant scheme is open to applications from all businesses and practitioners within the cultural and creative sector based within the proximity of the Berwick Town Walls. First-time applicants will be prioritised over repeat applicants within one year. If you are making a repeat application, you must make a strong case to show how your activity will have a positive impact.
We’re seeking applications from creative professionals and creative businesses that want to develop their skills and capacity to deliver creative activities that promote creative health.
Projects can include:
- Creative Health activities; workshops, events and cultural activities within education to promote creative thinking and develop future employment skills.
- Creative and cultural activities for children and young people
- Creative health assets to support children and young people’s emotional health and wellbeing
- The development and delivery of creative activities to promote good health as a ‘prescription’ for people with existing conditions
- The development and delivery of creative engagement activities to provide impactful experiences for those participating in the health or social care system
- Activities that engage diverse and broad demographics in creative health activities and experiences
- The delivery of creative activities, events or experiences that promote a healthy and happy Berwick.
We will fund imaginative and creative proposals including creative one-off projects, community events, creative workshops, creating a market for your work or any activity which supports creative enterprise. The event must be seen, exhibited or accessible to an audience in Berwick and help support the development of its creative and cultural economy.
Funding is available for events and activities to take place within Berwick’s town walls by creatives, community groups and organisations living and working in Berwick or a TD15 postcode with an English address.
